So, anyone else thinking of picking this up? The last game I used to hit on an almost daily basis was Battlefield 1942, so I'm really excited to get back into it and hopefully I'll be able to sneak some time to play online with some Live buddies.

I downloaded the trial on XBL yesterday. Seemed sluggish to me. Didn't do overly well either. I'm guessing you are talking about the PC version though.

No, I was referring to the 360 version. I bought it release day, but hadn't had a chance to get into it until this week. Very nice reskin of the original PC release, along with a console-ized streamline of the interface, etc. So far, I'm enjoying it. The console versions have always been fairly close to the PC versions, but I think this is the closest so far. And a steal for multiplayer for the price.
They weren't ready for it to sell as much as it did, so they didn't have enough servers going on it. They resolved that over the launch weekend, so it should be running much better now.

I wonder then they will do a remake of MC2 and put it on xbl?

I would doubt it. The original PC titles had a loyal following and they basically streamlined that and brought it to the consoles. It is about as close to the PC titles that I've seen on consoles so far. I think MC was a stopgap attempt that was a good fit for those who liked it, but a bit of a jump for fans of the series before it hit.
